I guess most of you, or at least some, know how it feels like to get out of bed with the thought that today you want to do something you have never done before. Well, it is actually something that I experience quite often and waking up one morning two weeks ago was no different.
That being said, I decided to trek the notorious and sometimes quite scary Pirin Ridge. This is one of the longest and most challenging routs in Bulgaria – some 18 km long and usually takes about 10 hours to complete. I had attempted it twice before in summer and with almost perfect conditions, but both times something got in the way.
