2 Day/1 Night Option
Day 1
Board the Chiva Express at the station of Tambillo, and ride the roof with panoramic views of the Andes. The chiva takes you up the slopes of the enormous Mount Cotopaxi, where you'll be transferred in a minibus to pick up colourful local handicrafts from an Indian market, and taken to the town of Riobamba at the foot of Chimborazo volcano, where you'll spend the night.
Day 2
This morning, board the Chiva Express to ride to Alausí along ravines and river gorges, where you'll experience the "Devil's Nose" switchbacks, riding down sheer cliffs in an impressive feat of engineering. Back at Alausí, you'll be transferred to Huigra Station to board the Chiva Express again, descending from the dramatic Andean landscape to the lush coastal plains. On arrival at the town of Bucay, you'll be transferred to Guayaquil.
