German Business Leaders Connect and Explore Bulgaria’s Cultural Heritage with Excedo Travel’s help
The annual meeting of the Baden-Baden Unternehmer Gespraeche (BBUG), a prominent business organization from Germany, successfully concluded last week in Sofia and Plovdiv. Over the course of three days, nearly 60 attendees engaged in insightful discussions and networking opportunities, supported by Excedo Travel, which expertly managed logistics and the event’s cultural programming.
Highlights of the conference included keynote speeches from Sofia’s mayor, Mr. Vasil Terziev, and Ms. Mariana Tcholakova, the German Honorary Consul in Plovdiv, who addressed key issues facing the business community and Bulgarian society.
Excedo Travel organized enriching city tours held in German, showcasing Bulgaria’s rich heritage. Participants visited the historic Boyana Church in Sofia, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its stunning medieval frescoes that date back to the 13th century. The church is celebrated for its artistic significance and well-preserved architecture, providing a glimpse into Bulgaria’s rich cultural history.
The sightseeing tour in Plovdiv included the Bishop’s Basilica of Philipopolis, which helped the city win the title of European Capital of Culture in 2019. It is notable for its impressive Roman mosaics and intricate architectural design. This ancient site serves as a testament to Bulgaria’s historical importance and its vibrant past as a center of commerce and culture in the region.
Attendees also enjoyed a taste of local cuisine alongside a selection of indigenous wines from the renowned Dragomir Wine Estate, further enriching their experience of Bulgaria through its culinary landscape.
