Eurovision is coming to Bulgaria! Burgas has officially been selected to host the Eurovision Song Contest 2027, bringing the Contest to Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast in May.
Whether you’re already planning your trip or just starting to explore your options, this guide will help you navigate the practical side of visiting Burgas for Eurovision – from getting there and choosing where to stay to local transport, the venue, food, sightseeing and day trips.

Eurovision 2027: What We Know So Far
Host City
Confirmed: Burgas
Burgas has officially been selected as the host city for the Eurovision Song Contest 2027. The announcement was made by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and Bulgarian National Television (BNT) on 13 August 2026.
Located on Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast, Burgas will welcome Eurovision fans, artists, delegations and media from around the world in May 2027.
The two Semi-Finals will take place on 11 and 13 May, followed by the Grand Final on 15 May 2027.
Eurovision Venue
Confirmed: Arena Burgas
The Eurovision Song Contest 2027 will take place at Arena Burgas, a modern indoor arena located in the northern part of the city.
The arena will host both Semi-Finals on 11 and 13 May and the Grand Final on 15 May 2027, as well as the preview shows and rehearsals surrounding the three live broadcasts.
Detailed information about access to the arena, public transport, entrances and facilities for Eurovision visitors has not yet been announced. We’ll update this guide as soon as official information becomes available.

Burgas is a compact, pedestrian-friendly city, and many of the places visitors are likely to need during their stay can easily be reached on foot. The city also has an extensive bus network connecting the centre with other parts of Burgas and the surrounding area.

Where to Stay – Detailed Accommodation Guide
Demand for accommodation in Burgas during Eurovision week is already extremely high. Following the announcement of Burgas as Host City, some hotels have not yet released their rooms for May 2027, while unusually high prices are appearing on some booking platforms.
If you are searching now and find very limited availability or exceptionally high rates, don’t assume that Burgas is already sold out. More accommodation is likely to become available as hotels finalise their plans and release rooms for the confirmed Eurovision dates.

How do I get to Burgas for Eurovision 2027?
Burgas has its own international airport, located around 10 km from the city centre. Depending on where you are travelling from, however, flying to Sofia may offer a much wider choice of international connections. From Sofia, you can continue to Burgas by train, bus, private transfer or rental car.

How do I get to the Eurovision Venue?
Eurovision 2027 will take place at Arena Burgas, located in the northern part of the city.
Detailed transport arrangements for Eurovision have not yet been announced. We’ll update this guide with the best ways to reach the arena by public transport, taxi and on foot as soon as more information becomes available.

How much time should I allow to reach Arena Burgas?
Burgas is a relatively compact city, but traffic and public transport are likely to be considerably busier than usual during Eurovision week.
On show days, we recommend allowing plenty of extra time to reach Arena Burgas. Once official transport arrangements, security procedures and recommended arrival times are announced, we’ll add more specific advice here.
Which taxi apps should I use in Burgas?
Several local taxi companies operate in Burgas, and app-based booking is available. Green Taxi Burgas, for example, offers an English-language app with map-based booking and real-time vehicle tracking.

Can I pay by card?
Yes. Card payments are widely accepted throughout Burgas and Bulgaria, including in most hotels, restaurants, bars, supermarkets, museums and shops. Visa and Mastercard are the most commonly accepted cards, while contactless payments with smartphones and smartwatches are also widely used.
Bulgaria is part of the eurozone and uses the euro (€) as its official currency. Most visitors will find it easy to get around without carrying much cash, as electronic payments are accepted almost everywhere.
We still recommend keeping a small amount of cash on hand for occasional purchases at markets, small kiosks or other businesses that may not accept cards.
