German-speaking legal professionals discover Bulgaria’s cultural and historical treasures on a bespoke Sofia sightseeing tour during the CARPE JUS General Assembly 2025
Excedo Travel was honored to support the 2025 Annual General Meeting of CARPE JUS – a European Lawyers Network – by organizing a bespoke sightseeing tour of Sofia for approximately 20 legal professionals from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Conducted in German, the tour provided participants with an engaging exploration of Bulgaria’s capital, blending cultural landmarks with historical insights.
A highlight of the Sofia sightseeing tour was a guided visit to the archaeological underground of the Basilica of Saint Sophia. This 6th-century church, one of Sofia’s most iconic landmarks, stands atop a rich archaeological complex featuring ancient tombs and remnants of earlier Christian churches. The subterranean tour offered delegates a unique perspective on the city’s early Christian history and its evolution over the centuries.
Hosted by the esteemed law firm DIKOV DIKOVA & PARTNERS, a long-standing CARPE JUS member with dual admissions in Bulgaria and Germany, the four-day meeting emphasized legal collaboration and cultural exchange. Excedo Travel is proud to have contributed to this event, enhancing the delegates’ experience through a thoughtfully curated tour that fostered both professional and personal connections.
Beyond the historical insights, the tour served as a platform for informal networking in a relaxed setting, enhancing the sense of community among CARPE JUS members. Strolling through Sofia’s lively boulevards and past iconic sites such as the National Assembly, Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, and the historic city center, participants enjoyed a deeper connection not only with the city but also with each other. These shared experiences outside the meeting room provided the ideal backdrop for strengthening professional trust—an essential foundation for the network’s collaborative legal work across borders.
