Long-standing partner to the World Bank Group, Excedo Travel supports the Bulgaria Country Office with bespoke cultural tour for corporate delegations
In September 2025, Excedo Travel once again demonstrated its role as a trusted partner of the World Bank Group in Bulgaria. For years, the company has supported the World Bank Country Office in organising cultural Sofia tours as part of key corporate events.
During the Network of Procurement in International Organizations (NPIO) Summit 2025, held in the Bulgarian capital from 10 to 12 September, Excedo Travel was commissioned to deliver a special walking tour for all summit participants on 12 September 2025. The evening route presented Sofia’s beautifully illuminated landmarks and gave guests an authentic sense of the city’s vibrant rhythm.
In addition, Excedo Travel’s owner and managing director, Manuela Dimitrova, personally guided a private tour for Wencai Zhang, Managing Director & Chief Administrative Officer of the World Bank Group. Accompanied by Grigor Milanov, Director of the World Bank Sofia Centre and host of the event, the tour offered an in-depth introduction to Sofia’s heritage and continued with a visit to the historic city of Plovdiv.
The World Bank Sofia Centre serves as a regional hub for shared services, providing administrative, IT, and digital support for the Bank’s global operations. Established in 2019, it embodies the World Bank’s vision for operational excellence and regional cooperation.
The cultural Sofia tour added a human dimension to the summit’s forward-looking agenda, which focused on digitalisation, sustainability, and resilience in international procurement. Exploring Sofia’s blend of Roman, Byzantine, and modern influences gave participants a unique insight into Bulgaria’s culture and development.
At Excedo Travel, we are proud to continue our collaboration with the World Bank Group, creating experiences that combine professional purpose with authentic discovery.
