The World Bank Group held its 2019 GENEC Regional Business Meeting on May 6 in Sofia, Bulgaria. The event brought together Environment, Water and Natural Resource Practice Managers from across Europe and Central Asia.

The Bulgaria Country Office of the World Bank, who hosted this year’s event, entrusted Excedo Travel to show their colleagues one of the emblematic landmarks of Sofia – Dragalevski Monastery. Participants learned more about Bulgaria’s history and the importance of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church in preserving the nation’s identity during Ottoman rule. They also had the rare chance to enter the 14-th century chapel of the Monastery and marvel at its delicate frescoes.
