If you are visiting Bulgaria for a couple of days and wish to make the most of your stay, our ‘Koprivshtitsa Sightseeing and Hiking Tour’ is a great start.
Koprivshtitsa is a charming small town in central Bulgaria with an abundance of history and things to see. Situated slightly over 1000 m.a.s.l. in the heart of Sredna Gora mountain, it was at the center of the historic April uprising against Ottoman rule over Bulgaria in 1876. One of the best ways to understand the roots and dynamics of Bulgarian resistance during that time is to learn more about Koprivshitsa and its colorful houses, surrounded by high stone walls and gates.
On our sightseeing tour along the curved and narrow cobblestone streets of Koprivshtitsa we will visit two emblematic 19th century museum houses – the Oslekova and the Lyutova houses, which still preserve the atmosphere of the Bulgarian National Revival Era.
The day continues with a pleasant and leisurely hike above Koprivshtitsa. Our goal is to reach Golyam Pop peak. It is located at 1438 m above sea level and offers a spectacular view towards the majestic Balkan Mountain Range to the north.
Should you be looking for a more challenging hiking experience, this can be arranged easily. Koprivshtitsa is the starting point for numerous trails throughout Sredna Gora mountain and we can tailor our hiking route to your preference. Get in touch if you would like to learn more.
* We operate this tour all year round, however, it is subject to weather conditions. Particularly in winter, in case of extensive snow cover, we provide snow-shoes to participants.

As an architectural reserve, Koprivshtitsa is one of the most popular cultural hot-spots in Bulgaria. It’s colorful Revival Era buildings and cobbled streets are charming and welcoming.
